I bought one of these Sniper Hunter Class 3-12x40 Red/Green Illuminated Mil-Dot scopes at a gun show over the weekend for $101 plus tax. It's the first scope I've ever owned or used, so I'm no expert. It was very easy to mount on my Ruger 10\22 with the supplied mounting rings, hex keys and 2 batteries. Zooms from 3-12x which allows excellent view of a plate sized target at 100yds. The scope has a feature that allows you to re-set the W/E adjusters to "0" after scope is zero-ed. The Red/Green illumination feature allows adjustable brightness of the crosshairs in BRILLIANT red or green, but I don't know why you'd ever use that. My only gripe is when first testing the scope at 25yrds I couldn't get BOTH the target and the crosshairs to be in FOCUS - it was either/or. No such problems with focus at 50 and 100yrds. Apparently high quality scopes allow you to adjust the target and crosshairs independanty. The flip up lens covers are convienient, but since the focus ring is around the rear eye piece that lens cover spins as you twist the focus ring and the pop up cover eventually contacts the stock - you can just slip it off if it gets in the way. Without the Red/Green illuminated feature I think this scope is priced around $79. Certainly there are a ton of scopes available for $100 or less, this one is good looking and has many features that make it fun to play with. A solid 4 out of 5 stars.
