I could make quite a list of problems with this scope...and I haven't even attached it to a rifle yet; nor will I. It is already on its way back to the vendor. I only gave it a single star because they made me give a star just to post this.
As soon as I opened the box; I realized I had made a mistake and bought 1" rings when it is a 30mm tube. OK, that's my fault, but the tube size is listed towards the very end of the product description. Given the enormous size of this scope, you need at least 1" high mounts, and it's hard to find 1" high 30mm scope ring mounts.
So I took the scope and free-hand tested it out on objects in the field behind my house.
The conditions:
-appx 4:30 pm, clear, sunny, and no humidity.
-open field with scattered small trees ranging from 10-300 yds, with a large barn at the far end with signs on it (typical "no trespassing/for sale" sized signs. Maybe 3" block lettering?)
Problems:
1)the length of eye relief is terrible. very small window to work with; maybe 3-3.5" at best. and if you are offline even the slightest bit to either side, you're out of luck.
2) PITA to focus. I never could get a clear enough image to read the signs on the barn, no matter what power I was on. My old 3x9x40 bushnell had no problem reading the signs clearly. Additional attempts on other objects were also not good, a clear picture on bush A made for a fuzzy image on bush B even though they weren't much more than 15' apart.
3) MOST IMPORTANT: when trying the green/red illuminated recticle, it almost caused permanent retina damage! I am not kidding. The scope uses a projected light, which caused my eye to "see" a red dot in the center of my vision for at least 3 hours. I eventually went to bed with a cold compress over my eye. I seemed OK the next day but am going to my optometrist tomorrow to make sure. I do wear contacts; I don't know if that exacerbated the issue but either way this product is not safe.
