I presently own several NcStar optics. When I bought my first one, money was the main consideration at the time for me. That particular scope was a 4X16X50MM with SF/target turrets/illuminated recticle. I put this on my 204 Ruger and was pleasantly surprised how well it performed. Tracking was dead on repeatable. Focusing was a breeze. The optics are not as crisp as a higher priced scope, especially at the higher magnifications, for sure. But, the clearity has not been an issue or objectional enough to the point that would keep me from purchasing others. In fact I have!
I mounted this on my deer rifle, a 7MM Rem Mag, and it also performs quite well. In fact the illuminated recticle on this scope is about as sharp, clear and crisp as they come. No bleed over whatsoever. It tracks very well when adjusting either the vertical/windage adjustments when sighting in. Again the clearity is not the best but it is not a real issue. It is better than the target model, perhaps because the objective is factory set and not adjustable.
But for the money they are hard to beat. In fact I just ordered a 3X9X40MM to put on a 17HMR for my grandson.
